Past Fundraising Events Movember 2011 This was the first event held in Luca's memory. Chris (my cousin in law), Peter (my uncle), James (my cousin), Andy and Tom (friends) all grew facial hair throughout the whole month of November. This event was hugely successful and raised £2000 for Fsid. Carol singing December 2011 Rachael and her daughter Chloe who are friends of the family went carol singing with some friends around their local area. They were out for 1 hour and amazingly raised £100. Charity Football Match December 2011 The Football match was held on Boxing day and was organised by my husbands old team Brixham Villa. The 2 teams consisted of Veterans in one team and friends and family of Luca in the other team. We were lucky enough to get some amazing raffle prizes from local businesses and a Official England football that was used during a tournament. The players also paid to play and we had a official Fsid collection box going around the spectators collecting donation. With all this added together we managed to raise another £1000 for Fsid. Ladies Night Fundraiser April 2012 This evening was a night of two halves. The first half had a host of local businesses who all came together to sell and promote their products. These business which include Capture Photography Devon, Lucy B Bees products, Cap ‘T Torture, Footprint direct, Bluebella of Brixham, Zena’s Beauty Therapy and Jo Parkes Vintage Gifts willing gave up their time and a percentage of all sales to help and support this wonderful charity. The Second half consisted of a raffle where again the support that was offered by local business was amazing as was the DJ who offered his services for free and really got the party going and kept it going to the early hours of the morning. This evening was a huge success and the money that was raised currently stands at an amazing £1450 which we are hoping to double with the generosity of Satander Banking company who will match any money that was raised for this evening. Torbay Half Marathon and Fun Run June 2012 On 24th June we had a team of 21 runners who took part in the Torbay Half Marathon and a team of 22 who took part in the fun run. It was a great day and as a complete team with all our Fsid t.shirts and our Fsid running tops we really got everyone attention which was what we wanted. All of our runners completed their challenge which was wonderful to witness. It was a day full of tears, joy,laughter and for the runners - Pain! But they all said it was worth it! I am proud to say we raised an amazing £6,649.98. This total completely smashed all our expectations. Co-operative Funeral Directors Summer Fate June 2012 The end of June played host to The Summer Fate, all week leading up to this event we were praying the weather would hold out and we were lucky except for one down pour the day was lovely. The employees at The CO-OP worked hard to make sure this event went off with a bang. There was Face Painting, a Bouncy Castle, Penalty Shoot Out and a Iggle Piggle character to keep the children happy. There was also a Tea & Coffee stand, loads of cakes, a Sweet stand, jewellery to buy, guess the sweets and a raffle draw - so plenty to keep everyone entertained. The Boss man had also volunteered himself for the throwing of the wet sponges and by doing this he personally raised £219 - which is brilliant. I have just had conformation from Hayley at the CO-OP and the total for monies raised at this event has totalled a wonderful £1118 - A brilliant total achieved through a wonderful team - CO-OP FUNERAL DIRECTORS x Peer 1 - The Three Peaks Challenge August 2012 Peer 1 is a IT Hosting Company based in Southampton who love raising money for Charities. They decided to undertake the The Three Peaks Challenge in August 2012 and we were lucky enough that they chose FSID in memory of Luca to raise money for. Donya Fitzsimmons was the lovely lady that put Our Charity to her company and they were happy to go with her choice. I was luckily enough to work with Donya many years ago and through Facebook we kept in touched, so when she contacted me with her idea I was thrilled that she wanted to raise money for FSID. It was touching to see that Luca's little life was still having a impact that reached beyond his family. The whole Peer 1 Team did fantastic to complete their incredible challenge in 26.5 hours and in the process raised a brilliant total of £2,240. 25 Mile Bike Ride For Luca Septemeber 2012 In September Chris Bashford completed a 25 mile bike ride cycling in fancy dress from Bovey Tracey to Tavistock, stopping at Haytor, Widecombe in the moor, Ponswothy, Dartmeet and Two Bridges. Chris completed this challenge by himself with the support from his wife - Rebecca, who followed him in the car keeping him motivated and looking after his fancy dress clothes. Chris did amazing and raised a fabulous £150. Grace Byng Christening October 2012 Little Grace was Christened Sunday 14th October at Collaton St Mary Church surrounded by her family and friends. Her lovely Parents Adrain and Melanie decided to ask their guest not to buy Grace a Christening present but instead to give a donation that they would give to FSID in memory of Luca. Grace's Christening was enjoyed by all who attended and in the process they collected a wonderful £200. Co-operative Funeral Directors Christmas Remembrance Service 2012 For the second time in 2012 The Co-operative Funeral Directors Company have support FSID in memory of Luca. They hosted a Christmas Remembrance service in their Chapel of Rest for Families who had lost anyone close to them. The service was lovely and everyone was very generous with their donations as they managed to raise a very festive total of £165.00. Kenny Griffiths weight loss challenge May 2013 My husband met Kenny through football as they were playing for the same club when Luca died. Kenny approached Martin saying he wanted to loose some weight and thought it would be a great idea if he could get people to sponsor his weight loss. Kenny lost 20lb which is approx just over a stone and through the generosity of his friends and family he managed to raise a brilliant total of £320 that he has kindly donated to The Lullaby Trust. Well done Kenny! Buckland Athletic Veterans Footy Match In May 2013 Buckland Athletic hosted a Veterans Football Match at their ground. This year we were lucky enough to be their chosen Charity. Buckland have truely been a massive support with Luca's Charity and we are very gratefull for their efforts. Amasingly the Football Match raised a brilliant £352. Well done lads. Torbay Half Marathon June 2013 On June 23rd 2013 Martin (Luca's Daddy) and Damien Jackson completed their second Half Marathon to raise money for The Lullaby Trust in memory of Luca. Although Team Luca was a little short on numbers we still manage to draw a great crowd to cheer the boys on. Amasingly with the support of great friends and family they raised a brilliant £1095. Well done to Martin and Damien. Mrs A's Vintage Tea Party July 2013 On July 5th 2013 my good friend Danielle held a Vintage Tea Party at her house. It was a day of two halves, in the morning it was just a regular coffee morning with some amazing cakes tea and coffee and in the afternnon it was Cream Teas and Pimms. The weather was stunning and really helped towards our fundraiser being a success. With the help and genorosity of local businesses who donated some fablous raffle prises and the people who attended this event we raised £493.60 for The Lullaby Trust. Well done Mrs A. Carina's Headshave August 2013 Bank Holiday Weekend was the day this brave Lady Shaved off her hair! Carina decided to do a joint fundraiser. The money she raised was going to be split between us and Rowcroft. She was also donating her hair to a wig making who has alot of delings with people going through Chemo. Carina raised a brilliant £1177.42 with half of it £588.71 going to The Lullaby Trust. Well done Carina x Jenny's Bristol Half Marathon September 2013 Jenny completed her first Half Marathon in September. We were thrilled that Jenny chose us as her Charity to raise money for. After speaking to Jenny I think she may have caught the running bug and we wish her luck with any future runs, and we thank her for raising £269 for The Lullaby Trust.
